Kole Nichols (b. 1998, Alabama, USA) is an American multidisciplinary artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Working across painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation, Nichols expands the language of image making through a practice rooted in introspection, memory, and personal narrative. His works bring together layered materials and processes to construct spaces of reflection, where gesture, symbolism, and abstraction become vehicles for examining identity, place, and lived experience.
Raised in rural Alabama, Nichols received his BFA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his MFA from the University of Alabama. He currently lives and works in Atlanta, where he is both an artist and educator. In 2025, he was awarded the 2026 Edge Award by the Forward Arts Foundation, recognizing outstanding emerging artists in Atlanta. Recent solo exhibitions include Institute 193 (2025), Whitespace, Atlanta (2024), Hawkins Headquarters (2023), and Monaco (2023). His work has also been presented in group exhibitions at the Wiregrass Museum of Art, Johnson Lowe Gallery, Agnes Scott College, and the Shelby County Arts Council.
