Presentation

Liang Fu (b. 1993, Sichuan, China) lives and works in Paris. With a BFA and MFA from the National Fine Arts School of Nantes, his practice explores the relationship between corporeal forms, landscapes, and the passage of time. Influenced by a family legacy of antique connoisseurship, Fu works in both painting and sculpture.

In painting, Fu combines the fluidity of watercolor with the depth of oil paints, exploring perception, spirituality, and materiality. His work examines the tension between transience and permanence, presence and absence. In sculpture, Fu investigates the emotional resonance of materials like ceramics, glass, wood, leather and wax, exploring their fragility and strength.

At the heart of his practice is a fascination with water, both as a medium and a metaphor for time and change. Fu’s work invites reflection on the impermanence of existence, blending material exploration with conceptual inquiry.
