4. Do I have the right to practice other mediums than the one I usually practice?
During your stay at the residence, if you wish to discover other techniques, you may very well do it.
5. Are animals accepted?
Yes.
6. Is the production of the works at our expense?
Yes, but we can send you a letter of invitation that you can use to apply for financial aid from institutions in your country. We collaborate with art supply stores and are happy to help you find the best deal.
7. Can I send the production I made to my studio?
Yes, anything produced during your residency belongs to you.
We also offer free storage of your art production in case you may need extra time to arrange the return.
8. Are there any suppliers in Willebadessen to order materials?
No. Willebadessen is a small village and does not have an art supply store. On the first day of the residency, all residents will be driven (approx. 30 minutes) to the nearest supplier to purchase required materials. If you use materials that may be difficult to source locally, please let us know in advance and we will be happy to check availability or arrange an online order delivered directly to the Schloss.
9. Do you organise studio visits?
Yes. Throughout the residency, we organise curated visits, typically on weekends, with collectors, gallerists, curators, and friends. These visits may include studio tours, dinners, and other activities.
10. Do you organise exhibitions at the residency?
We guarantee a public presentation of your work. This may take the form of a solo exhibition, group exhibition, open studio, or private dinner, depending on your production and the residency’s existing program.
Documentation of the presentation will be shared on our website and Instagram.
11. What are the accommodations?
Each resident is provided with a private room, a private studio and shares a bathroom with up to three other residents.
12. Are there any activities we can practice in our free time?
Daily yoga. A private lake in the surrounding woods is available for swimming, along with a natural sauna. The town offers tennis courts, and horses are kept on the residency grounds, making horseback riding possible at your own risk. The surrounding forest is accessible at all times and may be used for walking, exercise, or other activities, provided they are carried out with respect for the natural environment.
13. Am I allowed to invite guests?
Overnight stays are not permitted. You are welcome to invite guests for studio visits or other professional meetings. However, we encourage residents to prioritize exchange and social interaction within the residency community.
14. How do I get to Willebadessen?
Willebadessen can be reached by car or by train. The village has its own train station, and the nearest airports are Kassel and Paderborn.
