Anner Cohen

Biography

Anner Cohen (b. 1997) is an artist working primarily in painting. His recent works incorporate sketches taken from different sources, capturing their faded, sketchbook-like quality while becoming both visual and thematic elements within the work. Spontaneously arranged, these sketches come together like pieces of a puzzle, forming compositions that appear random at first but suggest underlying connections and associations. Hyper realistic elements introduce a contrasting sense of precision, while Cohen himself occasionally enters the paintings as a protagonist.

Cohen’s work has been exhibited in solo presentations at Gerber & Stauffer Fine Arts, Zurich (2023), and ATM Gallery, New York (2022), and in duo and group exhibitions at institutions and galleries including Pond Society, Shanghai; Ida’s room & Balice Hertling, Paris; Galerie Rolando Anselmi, Rome; Opa Projects, Miami; MINT Gallery, Munich; Wolff Jordan, Berlin; Spurs Gallery, Beijing; Another Gallery LA, Los Angeles; and Surface Area, Miami. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, and the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Florida.
