Irving Ramó is an equadorian Artist based in Berlin. In his work he explores cycles of power and the shifting roles of victim and aggressor. Drawing on diverse historical traditions and iconographies, he transforms painting into a ritual arena where desire, violence, eroticism, and mortality converge.
His figures multiply, overlap, and lose their singularity, hovering between myth and memory, tragedy and play. In his recurring equestrian works, for example, classical images of conquest and heroism become looping, ironic spectacles that question migration and masculinity. Across his practice, Ramó presents conflict as a fundamental force through which power continually reverses and reappears in new forms.
