As a multimedia artist and artistic researcher, Annkathrin Kluss uses storytelling as a tool to (counter-)map planetary relations, microhistories and new modes of worlding. Her videos, installations and writings merge speculative fiction, critical theory, and archival research to reimagine spaces marked by loss – not as static ruins, but as shapeshifting agents.
Kluss graduated at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2021 in the Lensbased Class of Hito Steyerl and as a fellow of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Since 2015 she co-organized 40+ public reading and discussion circles, talks, workshops, and conferences with multiple artistic and theoretical collectives. Her installations, videos and wall pieces have been shown at the Museum für angewandte Kunst Frankfurt, Museum für Photographie Berlin, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Kasseler Kunstverein, Eigen+Art Lab Berlin, 1822-Forum, and Babylon Berlin among others. Her works were awarded the Emerging Art Award by the communal Galleries of Berlin-Reinickendorf, the Honorary Prize for Photography by the Development Bank of the State of Berlin, the Art Award by the Frankfurter Künstlerhilfe, and are included in several public and private collections.
