Ermir Zhinipotoku (b. 1997, Martigny, Switzerland) lives and works in Prishtina, Kosovo where he received his BA in Painting from the Faculty of Arts, University of Prishtina, in 2019. He works with painting as a form of existential enquiry — his canvases occupy the threshold between figuration and abstraction, between the biological and the psychological.

His practice draws on the animal world as a mirror for human states. A technique of meticulous stippled mark-making built into fluid contour gives his surfaces an unusual density.

His work has been shown in Silent Threads at Galleria Continua, Paris (2025), and in solo presentations including Ephemeral Echoes at LambdaLambdaLambda, Prishtina, and Prej Studios at the National Historical Museum, Tirana (both 2024). He was a finalist for the Artists of Tomorrow Award at Stacion — Center for Contemporary Art, Prishtina (2025). He is represented by Mara Projects.

Zhinipotoku has just completed Passage residency at Schloss Willebadessen, and will next take up a residency at Cité internationale des arts, Paris.
